How to factory reset settings on Windows 10/11

Resetting your Windows PC settings can resolve numerous issues and improve performance. Here's how to perform a factory reset on Windows 10 and 11, keeping your files intact.

Windows 10:

  1. Open Settings: Click the Start button, then select "Settings" (gear icon).

  2. Go to Update & Security: Choose "Update & Security" and then "Recovery."

  3. Start Reset: Click "Get started" under "Reset this PC." Choose "Keep my files" to reset without losing personal files.

Windows 11:

  1. Access Settings: Press Win + I or select Settings from the Start menu.

  2. Find Recovery Options: Navigate to "System" > "Recovery" and click "Reset PC."

  3. Choose to Keep Files: Select "Keep my files" for a reset that preserves your personal files.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure your device is plugged in during the reset.
